Hello
My name is Gray and I feel deeply honoured to be stepping into the role as the new project coordinator for Leicester’s Homelessness Charter.
For the last few years, I have been managing a team who have supported the homeless community with education, employment needs as part of the St Mungo’s Recovery College here in Leicester. Over the last 3 years we engaged with around 350 individuals helping them seek independence, develop essential skills and secure employment.
My move into the charity sector came after 30 years of corporate management where, during the pandemic, I allowed myself to reflect on my personal contribution to work and society and decided that a change was needed to bring my work in line with ethics and morality I hold.
For me, homelessness isn’t just about the lack of a roof over one’s head, it’s about being unseen, unheard and often forgotten. I firmly believe in the Charter’s mission, and the collective community drive, to challenge and to create meaningful change. I am here to listen, learn and to contribute and support. I look forward to working alongside you all over the coming months.
