YMCA Leicestershire is seeking an experienced, creative, and solution-focused Health & Wellbeing Practitioner to offer trauma informed support to young people experiencing complex emotional and mental wellbeing.

 

The ideal candidate will bring the clinical curiosity and risk awareness of a mental health practitioner together with the creativity, flexibility, and relationship-building skills of an experienced youth worker. They will be able to confidently assess and respond to mental health concerns while engaging young people in a way that is empowering, accessible, and meets them where they’re at.

Health & Wellbeing Practitioner

Salary: £28,000 pro-rata for 32-hours (£35,000 FTE)

The right candidate will have:

  • Experience supporting young people with complex emotional and mental health needs, trauma-related behaviours and relationship difficulties.
  • Experience applying therapeutic approaches safely and effectively.
  • The ability to assess risk, develop safety plans and manage crisis.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional curiosity.
  • Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills
  • Strong recording, monitoring and reporting skills.
